Ode to 2021

Boy what a year

Now nearly two

Our hopes so dashed

Yes quite a few

So much of pain, but also gain,

Lest we complain

A chance to view

the world anew

Prioritise

And seek the prize

Try comprehend

To what end

We’re ask to try

Rebuild our lives

And reach in love

To he who strives

To turn the tide

And not to hide

From so much ill

All those who’d kill

And seek to crush

In word or deed

Our tender touch

Through life’s mad rush

Our very soul

Not yet lost

Too high a cost

Lets take our role

To lead the way

Another day

Over think, over drive

This constant strive

For more and more

We have it all

Now different eyes

Oh what a prize

Was that the cost of all our loss

So we could start

To play our part

And lead the way

Another day…

Do not fear

Another year.
